If you are signed up for the Equalized Payments Plan (EPP), we estimated your annual consumption and spread it out over 12 bills. At your annual EPP review, we establish your new monthly installment, which takes into account various factors, such as your consumption history and the average temperatures in your region. Your monthly installment also includes your balance payable from the previous year, if applicable. These factors contribute to why your monthly installment varies from year to year. In addition, the past two winters were particularly cold and many of our customers signed up for the EPP saw their installments increase for this reason.
Other than the outdoor temperature, various factors can influence your electricity bill, in particular your living habits, the size of your household, your home’s features and your use of electric devices and appliances. A change to any of these elements can cause your bill to increase. On our Energy Wise Web site, you’ll find tips on how to save energy and reduce your bill.
