Hydro-Québec is strongly committed to the electrification of ground transportation.
We are convinced that electricity will play an increasingly important role in both personal and public transportation. And we have what it takes to contribute to this trend: clean and renewable energy, a reliable power grid, recognized expertise and attractive technologies.
We also encourage the electrification of public transportation, like trains and light in Québec. That’s why we are taking part in feasibility studies conducted by various public transit authorities to determine exactly what electrical infrastructure is needed and where Hydro-Québec could invest to support that development.
We are therefore open to contributing to the efforts of public transit authorities in their electrification projects. Fun fact: Montréal’s metro has been running on electricity since it first opened in 1966!
