If the main circuit breaker at your cottage is off, then you aren’t using any electricity. But when you signed up for the Equalized Payments Plan, we estimated the annual cost of your electricity use and divided it up into 12 equal monthly installments. That way you pay your annual electricity bill over the whole year.
If you use little or no electricity for several months, your monthly installment will be lowered at your next annual review.
If the EPP doesn’t suit you anymore, you can go back to paying every two months for the amount of electricity you actually use. However, any balance due when you stop the Equalized Payments Plan will be payable immediately.
