We are sorry to hear that there have been service outages in your sector.
Outages are frequently caused by adverse weather conditions. Indeed, storms, snow, freezing rain and strong winds are part of the main reasons for service interruptions. More than one out of three–40% of outages, in fact–are caused by branches falling on power lines following bad weather. Outages may also be caused by animals coming into contact with our electrical installations, car accidents that damage our equipment and by other factors out of our control.
Each year, we invest in projects, such as tree pruning, with a view to preventing outages and reducing their duration. For more information, visit the following Hydro-Québec Web pages: Understanding outages and Overview of initiatives.
