That’s an excellent question. Our campaign specifically targets periods of intense cold that, thankfully, were rather rare this winter.
During these cold snaps, we ask our customers, whenever possible, to avoid using their energy-guzzling appliances between 6 and 9 a.m. and between 4 and 8 p.m. Many appliances have timers that allow you to start them at a set time, like 8 p.m., for example. This concrete step helps optimize electricity distribution throughout the system and helps us reduce our electricity purchases on external markets.
We also invite you to watch this video about winter peaks, which explains the effect of peaks on the power system.
