Going without power is never fun. We apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced. When outages occur, our crews work hard to restore power to our customers as quickly as possible.
Outages can be caused by many things—weather events, animals coming into contact with our power system, car accidents damaging our equipment, and other factors beyond our control. More than a third of all outages – 40%, in fact – are caused by branches falling onto power lines after a weather event.
Outages aren’t more frequent in the Lévis area. However, the power grid in the area is made up of north-south lines, whereas the prevailing winds blow from west to east. This can increase the outage potential when winds are strong.
