We are very active on northeastern North American energy markets!
As for the New York market, it accounts for roughly 25 to 30% of our exports from year to year.
In 2014, the average export price for all our markets was around 6 ¢/kWh. Note that this is a wholesale price; it does not include transmission and distribution costs. As such, it cannot be compared with Hydro-Québec’s rates, which include all these costs.
Our exports accounted for $814 of Hydro-Québec’s net income in 2014.
Residential rates for Québec customers do not vary depending on time and/or season and are four times less expensive than in New York City.

It’s also important to note that there are many power distributors in New York State, each with different rates. To learn more about rates in New York, we invite you to visit the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO), the authority that regulates the market in this State.
