The amount of energy we generate varies depending on real-time demand. A scenario in which we produce electricity at our maximum capacity for a whole year is not realistic.
Theoretically, the hydroelectric generating stations that made up the generating fleet on December 31, 2014, could generate around 220 TWh a year.
This result is based on the following:
• Total installed capacity of 36,100 MW (Hydro-Québec’s 61 hydroelectric generating stations)
• A hypothetical load factor of 70% of a full year
